Ever feel tempted to build a shitty product but are afraid to because you may be held liable?
Don't worry!
According to this link You can build anything as poorly as your heart desires, and when it breaks, just blame the guy who broke it! Perhaps someone should have made Bridgestone/Firestone aware of this fine point during their little problem with critical failure of merchandise last year.
Of course we all know this wouldn't work.
Laws pertaining to this sort of action, although traditionally a mockery of justice, have only reached ludicrousness of truelly epic proportions in the online arena. Reminds me of this rediculous story of a musician that I used to consider tolerable trying to screw over someone with far less money than him. If either of these guys getting the ol' corporate rectal reaming turned out to be a Rockefeller, do you think it would happen? These guys are akin to that grade 7 kid with a beard, muscles, and tatoos wandering over to the kindergarten class and stealing lunches.
Why?
My best guess is that, in the internet world, no one can tell if you are rich, powerful, or successful just by looking at your web page. When AOL's CEO coats you down with a mud puddle flung from the tires of his limo or you are deafened by the roar of the crowd as Don Henley walks out on stage, you know they are people of money, power or popularity, most like accomanied by a great feeling of self-importance. This self-important stupor in which many self-proclaimed great people wallow is the key.
